MSNBC is blaming foreigners for several college shootings
Going back to the 1991 attack in Iowa all the way to the preliminary reports that today's gunman was an Asian male.

Give me a fucking break. Stop blaming somebody else. This is symptomatic of so many larger problems HERE IN THE GOOD OLE US of Fuckin A.

Nora didn't mention the Columbine shooters--white. Inexcusable race baiting.

In the ensuing time period is MSNBC reporting how many people
have been shot in Amercia by Americans? Or how many people Americans have shot in foreign lands?

Honestly, just when you think their whoredom can not go any lower they grab a shovel and dig deeper.

8. Blaming minorities works
It's the rappers fault. Minorities did it too. Minorities are to blame for everything. They absolutely learned from the Imus firing.

MSNBC's blaming Asians, Dobbs is going to blame Mexicans, freepers are going to blame muslims, Joe's going to blame video games, gun nuts are going to blame the lack of guns, and everybody's going to blame rap music.

20. Uh oh! Did I just hear that he was wearing a Mariner's cap?
Breaking News...Snow-delayed baseball games motivation for mass-shooting...massive Low sweeping across the nation found to psychologically affect sports fans.

After listening to MSNBC blaming this on immigration policies for the past half-hour or so, I think I've flipped a bit, myself.

A moment of silence for the victims of this horrible tragedy. Families must be devastated at this point, with so much conflicting and truly nasty newscasting going on.

I've just switched over to CNN, also.

The objectivity in the reporting of this tragedy seems to be seriously lacking this morning.

He may very well be Asian, so what?

Charles Whitman had blonde hair, blue eyes, and was as American as apple pie, and this poor lost soul blew his head count away.

What a tragedy.

In the coming days I'm sure his whole life story will be revealed.

My question is, why wasn't the campus locked down immediately?

19. My guess is that a college campus
is a bit tricky to lock down, considering there are any number of buildings scattered over several or many acres. I doubt there's anything equivalent to a k-12 school's PA system which would allow informing everyone at once. Depending on exactly what kind of security there is -- and I don't think most colleges have security guards in every building with immediate access to what's going on everywhere.

hours to work with, HOURS.

I've lived in VA for many years and am familiar with the campus. It seems from what they're reporting that someone dropped the ball. There is going to be a true shit storm over this, as well there should be.

My daughter in law is of Filipino descent but was born & raised in CA, USA. Do they consider her a "foreigner"?

But because of his race he is tabbed a a "foreigner".

Unfortunately, the majority of Americans are too ethnocentric to think about this (or other issues) that way.

They were trying to make a point that foreign students may feel alienated and also under more self imposed pressure to do well because of cultural differences, and also that they may take things in a more insulting way that weren't intended to be. Not that I agree with that at all, thats just how it seemed they were trying to frame it.

31. I heard it - they didn't blame, they stated fact on the number of foreign shooters
with a high number of them being of asian decent.

The profiler even backed it up but was careful in his delivery. Said it was something he wanted to study further ...or something like that.

32. List of Campus Shootings: 9 total; two oriental/asian; today and '91
Culture might be a factor, as shame over failure is considered worthy of suicide. Also of interest is that Virginia was involved in two of these incidents (W. VA separate) and CA in two (although a much larger state.)
