Alison Stewart, who subs for Keith Olbermann when he's gone, has taken over from a young woman who, I'm sorry, has a voice like a child. Alison, in contrast, is doing the job in a professional manner and seems quite comfortable with this breaking story -- and, IMO, seems more appropriate for coverage of this kind of tragedy. Neither Tucker Carlson nor Chris Matthews has been seen in their regular time slot, but there has been a promo indicating that Keith will be on-air at 8 Eastern.

It will be interesting to see Keith cover this breaking news event.

7. Yeah, but there's been no other "regular" programming. I didn't expect Keith to be on at all...
since Tucker and Tweety weren't on.

2. Alison Stewart is VERY good. I don't mind it a bit when Keith's gone if she's on.
She could easily have her own show, IMO.

10. She is believable with making news and doesn't show her
point of view.

That is refreshing!
I really like her style.

Where are Soladad and Miles? I saw their replacements and I was not impressed.

5. She's come quite a ways since her days
on MTV. A polished and now seasoned reporter.

The only breaking news event that I want to hear about is the DOJ's refusal to comply with a subpoena

11. Well...Cutey "ALLISON" is married to big MSNBC Producer but she is a
graduate from a prestigious NE School...so she might have some brain...or a famous daddy....who is paying her way along with her hubby who thought she deserved her OWN SHOW and is now using that to further promote her name.

but they work their butts off, are smart and seem headed for successful careers. Some of their friends, on the other hand, don't do much of anything, because they've known their whole lives they didn't have to.

I didn't know Alison's background, however.

13. MSNBC is going to be all-Va. Tech tonight.
So get ready. Even Countdown is being promoted that way.

The good news is, Keith doesn't plan to ask anyone "how do you FEEL?"

I'm not surprised Alison handled her coverage well. She's like that.
