WASHINGTON, D.C. -- U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown is joining in the discussion of alternative energy these days and is even finding more reasons than ever to undertake such a job.
The Senator said that even manufacturing such things as wind turbines would greatly improve our economic state.
"We need a better trade policy and a real alternative energy policy that will encourage. I'm not promising we open all the steel mills along the Ohio River, but I am concerned that if we do it right, we'll have more steel produced in the country and we'll see more wind turbines assembled in the country and the same for solar," said Brown.
A regional partnership that includes West Virginia University has recently filed a proposal to establish a major wind turbine drivetrain test facility in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
