Can you help counter Fox's seemingly airtight case for Libby

Brit Hume boiled down Fox's analysis as follows: The prosecutor had the power to not prosecute Libby, but he chose to do so. He could have chosen to not prosecute. That makes this case an ilegitimate prosecution.

4. Don't ALL prosecutors have that "right?"
Edited on Sun Jan-28-07 07:12 PM by rocknation
And hopefully, don't they all choose what cased to prosecute based on their having enough evidence to WIN? I've heard of being anti-choice, but this is ridiculous!

7. They always have the power not to prosecute.
The fact that he DID means he has enough evidence to win.

12. If a Dem Pres and VP had leaked/covered up, Repubs would've impeached
Edited on Sun Jan-28-07 07:16 PM by wishlist
This is just one in a string of Bush Administration lies and coverups that would have brought strong media condemnation and calls for impeachment had the same things happened under a Dem White House.

I don't recall any protests by Repubs over Dem Martha Stewart going to jail for lying to Feds.

I'm taking this to mean that Libby is up a creek and Cheney is dog-
paddling along behind him.

14. That is actually
better than the defense that Team Libby is trying to use now.

Another point that Fox News might make, if Paul's grandfather from "A Hard Day's Night" were being interviewed, is that Mr. Fitzgerald is always taller than Scooter. Yet he still presses these charges.

16. Marie - you're missing the point: In Faux - the "charge" is " Outing
a CIA undercover agent".....which no-one is actually charged with....so no-one can actually be guilty... " Looky here...shiny thinh , shiny thing..dont look at the nasty prosecutor accusing the nice man with lying to the FBI"
