GOP Congressional Candidate shoots at target
with Debbie Wasserman-Schultz's initials on it. He says it was a "joke". I'm sorry I'm having trouble with the link-it's on MSNBC.
The story speaks for itself.

Hint: You getting outraged over such actions is exactly the reaction their perpetrators hope for.

4. Well then their wish is fulfilled because I find such behavior outrageous.
For the common riff raff in America such behavior might be acceptable (not by me) but for someone running for Public Office to suggest another Representative of the people should become a target and encourage the riff raff to believe she should indeed be a target is outrageous and I don't think this should be allowed to go unchallenged..While it may make this guy a Hero among the riff raff, it makes him unbalanced IMO.

5. I Wish The Story Spoke For Itself, But It Doesn't.

The usual DU gun militants are showing up on other threads devoted to this incident, and defending the Republican asswipe's use of a target bearing his Democratic opponent's name. As if it's no big deal, as if such practices have been going on forever, and as if such actions don't signify what a dark tunnel this nation has plunged itself into. As if it's all just a "joke."

6. cmon, this is just another way of getting at your opponent in effigy as someone else said
you can look at what he did, laugh at him, dont vote for him, and then move on. Did you also think that people who burn bush in effigy or rumsfeld or cheney should have been hounded...

7. The outrage is silly - If the shoe was on the other foot nobody would be whining about it
Say a Democratic candidate shooting at a photo of a Republican opponent.

You know damned well there would be no such outrage at that.

10. Yup.. burning in effigy, hanging in effigy.. shooting in effigy..
All protected speech, when you get right down to it.

Did you raise the same furor over the Quittacuda hanging in effigy?

When/if it crosses into incitement to violence, it's not protected speech.

Putting someone's initials on a target? Not even close.
