By Justin Blum

Oct. 16 (Bloomberg) -- David H. Safavian, the U.S. government’s top procurement official in President George W. Bush’s administration, was sentenced today to a year in prison for lying about his ties to lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

U.S. District Judge Paul Friedman in Washington sentenced Safavian on charges of obstruction of justice and making false statements, according to a Justice Department statement. In addition to the prison term, Safavian was sentenced to two years of supervised release. snip

Safavian left the General Services Administration in 2004 after Bush appointed him to the Office of Management and Budget. He served as the government’s top procurement officer until September 2005, when he resigned several days before his arrest.

1. what about Chaney.. he gave the check to the contractor* who transfered the $400,000+ to a cashiers
check the same day that bought the sail boat randy duke cunningham lived on free..

*Contractor.... a small time 2bit contractor was hired by Chaney to do renovations to his offices, the cost was to the penny of the sailboat. the Government Check..all taxpayers money... was "immediately" transfered laundered to a cashiers check and driven to the boat yard and the boat purchased.. a week previous they went to the boat yard and duke was told to pick out his boat.. the salesman said he knew they were up to something not right.

this goes really deep.. deeper than we will ever know.. they protect even their evil opponents..
