'Miller's sickness' incident was 'hoax,' MSNBC says

(CNN) -- The case of Stephanie Miller's sickness, has been determined to be a "hoax" and a "publicity stunt," MSNBC spokesman said Sunday. The Mooks of the Stephanie Miller News show, engineered the incident in order to better market themselves for a television show, MSNBC told reporters at a news conference.

The incident Thursday prompted a widespread fears, including the C.D.C. and the workers at MSNBC. It ended when Ms. Miller (64) learned that she would not be allowed to play Dr. and Nurse with Keith Olbermann. Hopped up on box wine and codeine Miller was found wandering around Central Park West with a tranquilizer gun, handcuffs, astro-glide, and a picture of Mr. Olbermann.

Earlier Sunday, sheriff's deputies were seen entering and leaving the Miller Compound in southern California.

Miller's show producer Chris Lavort was reported to have been seen screaming into a cell phone "Stephanie Louise Miller what were you thinking?"

Associate producer Rebakah Bakker when asked for a comment said, "Think I give a crap? This is just a job until I can find a real one. You guys aren't hiring are you? Wanna see my resume? I do all the work at

the show anyway and i have to deal w/ all those egos too."
