Purists? Huh? We got a new sect?
Did I miss something? I know I don't post a lot lately... but now we have purists? Are they like the Puritans? Are they the Party Pirates? How about the Professorial Prudes?

W.T.F.

Some of you are starting to sound like republicans... or are those the Purists? Republicans in disguise... Oh wait, those are trolls.

:sarcasm:

2. The "purists" of which they speak
are those that DEMAND Democrats act like, well, uh, Democrats.
You know...civil rights, womens rights, reproductive rights, GBLT rights...
and whenever anyone starts getting uppity, they are promptly told that it is NOT time for their pony.
Oh. Yes. I am a purist. If a Democrat does not support that basic ideology?
They simply are not Democrats. No support here and a heck of a lot of apathy.

3. LOL...
You could also call them patient. IMHO anyway...

Like I said, I haven't really been around for a bit and saw the term half a dozen times and was curious.

4. actually...
I just found it funny that we've resorted to name calling again. I thought that was pretty much exclusive to primary season.

6. I am a proud purist. And you are exactly right! +1
I have been told reproductive rights aren't an issue, GBLT don't count, Unions think too much of themselves and could actually "cost" us an election, and allowing the red states to be eliminated from health care is hunkey dorey .The red state Dems will just have to "suffer" as that is the price they pay. If they don't like it they should move. If they don't have money, or are too sick, thats just the price they pay for living in a red state. And anyone who did not support Obama in the primary doesn't have a right to an opinion anyway.

None of this sounds Democratic to me. I am ashamed that some are in this party. They don't have the faintest clue what it means to be a Democrat. And the lack the compassion that was the hallmark of the Democratic Party is frightening.

13. Purist is a word they use because they get banned if they say
what they mean. It applies to GLBT people, teachers, women, and those of lower income. It is a word used by those who are too cowardly to speak their minds. To say what they really mean.

15. I don't know if some are trolls or not but it does seem to me that fighting for what
you believe in is not only right, it is necessary. If we fight like hell, get this PO with limited coverage then we fight for more, we go back again and again. We keep reminding the people in government power of our commitment to the poor, to equal rights for all. There is nothing to be dismissive about if people raise their voices in dissent...

17. The "purists" are usually those that think that politicians should be held accountable.
No matter what letter they have plastered behind their name.

18. "Purist" is just a term the low information Party Loyalists use...
...when they can't debate an Issue on its merit.

Often seen in the vicinity of "hater" or "whiner".
