Openly gay NY Sen. Thomas Duane expresses his thanks to Sen. Ruth Hassell-Thompson after her touching speech about her gay brother during her unexpected "yes" vote on marriage equality in the New York Senate today. You can express your own appreciation to Sen. 4. I saw it live yesterday, and called her office afterwards to say, I'm from
NC and just wanted to that the Senator, that was probably the most moving, courageous and powerful speech I was privileged to watch.

8. It's touching, BUT
the whole marriage issue should never even need to be legislated.. Marriage should be a right for all adults..of either sex in any combination of 2.. It should be a right,. a civil right. A life-partner as a civil right should be the same for everyone, and it should not have to be "legalized".

Doing that ONE thing would sure make a lot of people's lives easier. (including legislators, who often feel compelled to take a stand they really don;t want to..on either "side")

If people choose to "sanctify" their union in a religious ceremony..that's between them and their church.

9. True.
However, why did you have to post that argument that most people already know by heart in this thread? The OP is a powerful photograph that made a point very simply.

11. *snark*
I'll expect a PM before every post from now on. If not, you will be restricted to FR which is where unrepentant terrorists like yourself go. It is the Gitmo of the interwebs.

You have raised the terror level to Red and Mods have been scrambled. Expect a visit from mysterious men in black suits from the NSAFBIUSDASECCIAFCCNCAAMSNBCICE.:hi: :P
