I know, I'm a Debbie Downer but I feel like it's going to be like 1992 all over again.

Anyone else feel the same?

Seems like our politicians are more concerned with getting reelected than actually doing the one thing they were elected to do.

If it does pass there will not be a public option in my opinion.

4. hope it doesnt pass. it's watered down, pandering bullshit
I'm sick of the Re-elect-acrats pissing on us.

No public option, no real change, but I bet the mandate would pass, ensuring millions of captive customers without any protections from the bloodthirsty corporations. (That in no way resembles proper sentance structure. I realize this and dont care)

5. What's funny or sad is that I recall no town hall meetings about the IWR but
there were many for the health care reform bill.

What a bunch of losers.

6. It'll pass
It's what we're going to be getting that's in question.

Single-payer is dead and buried.

The public option is out.

It looks like there's a chance for Medicare expansion beginning at age 55.

There's still talk of adding another 24 million people to Medicaid. However Landrieu and Snowe are working to get rid of that.

There's a very good chance of mandates.

What we're going to be left with when all this is over remains to be seen.

7. There's a 100% chance of mandates
Every proposal has had mandates on individuals in it. Every one. They varied in all other respects but that. All the horsetrading and bickering and wrangling and all the months of sound and fury has been over how exactly to package mandates with a minimum of "reforms" needed to foist mandated purchase of for-profit insurance on the people.

8. I expect them as well
However, at this point I was trying not to say there was a 100% chance on anything. Which is why I used "very good" which was the strongest chance I gave anything. However, since the insurance lobbyist in power are all for mandates I do agree that's the one thing we can expect to actually get out of all of this.
