So now that King Joe runs the country, what will his next demand be?
It's now officially over for the Medicare buy-in, and King Joe rules our nation. Does anyone here at DU seriously believe that LIEberman is through with his demands? He cares nothing - nothing - for the people of this country and our well-being, and his out-of-control ego will never be fully fed. He will still vote no, kill health care reform, then jump to the GOP with a big flourish.

But who knows? Will he demand a crown? I would be happy to crown him at this point. We all worked so hard in 2008 to get this majority, and we are rewarded with King Joe Lieberman ruling us vassals.

4. This isn't the work of one Senator.
Lieberman gives cover to the Senate Democrats, that's all. He can take the heat since he gets so much of his support from Republicans anyway.

5. He'll demand a 10-year binding moritorium on any attempt
to implement a public option of any type in the future.

The sad thing is that the stooges running our majority would probably let him get away with it.

Very disappointing all around.

7. It's true. He can thwart any legislation he cares to. He campaigned for McCain
which tells me he was not supportive of the Democratic party's platform. Nothing President Obama or the Democrats try to pass will ever get out of the Senate as long as he's there. And he will be there til 2010 at which point we can expect to lose at least 1 seat there. Then the Republicans will obstruct.
