"Does Bush ever get tired of having to express his 'Full Confidence' in the people around him?"
A BUZZFLASH NEWS ANALYSIS

It's always good to be liked, but you know you're in trouble when the White House has to express "full confidence" in you to the media. In the midst of scandal after scandal, there has been plenty of confidence-ing to go around, prompting the following exchange during a White House press conference Friday:

Q Does the President ever get tired of having to express his full confidence in the people around him these days?

MS. PERINO: When you're President of the United States and you have this many folks that you are employing, it's a pretty small number that he's had to express full confidence in.

A pretty small number, eh? What about:

* Dick Cheney
* Karl Rove
* Albeto Gonzales
* Donald Rumsfeld
* Condi Rice
* John Ashcroft
* Paul Wolfowitz
* Michael Chertoff
* L. Paul Bremer
* George Tenet
* Steven Hadley
* Bernard Kerik
* John Snow
* Michael "Heckuva Job" Brown

3. "this many folks that you are employing"
Edited on Sun Apr-22-07 03:18 AM by Eric J in MN
Bush isn't employing any of those people.

We pay their salary (or did in the case of those who resigned) not him.

The wording wouldn't bother me if it didn't come from a "unitary executive" administration.

5. He's the decider.
Bush can't even employ proper use of English.

But I completely agree with you.

9. I'm never surprised when I hear that from him
It doesn't even register.

I've long learned not to expect him to even acknowledge anything that is going badly.

Because in HIS world, admitting that one of his own officials has a problem is like admitting failure himself.

Ain't gonna happen.

10. Well, he expresses "full confidence"
But the reality is they'll sacrifice anybody if it saves their skin. They do keep the loyal ones around as long as they can...

13. I dunno, if they're so smart why do they keep getting caught red-handed?
even Rove can't delete his emails without signposting it in 10' high day-glo letters.

Certainly corrupt but like most criminals incapable of covering up properly. Think what they could have achieved if only they had used their powers for good. :sarcasm:

14. They don't seem to care if they're getting caught.
And even worse, what happens when they get caught? Not much. They never have to give the money back, and the worst thing that seems to happen is that someone gets fired or has to resign. Libby is the only one to really go down hard, but he'll probably get pardoned.

So you lose your job but walk away with a billion dollars. Is it any wonder they're so cavalier?

And then they say "mistakes were made" and add some legislation that somehow takes away more of our rights. The corruption seems to have no bounds.

:(
