I have no proof, and I don't want to start a big conspiracy theory, but I wouldn't be surprised if some conservative leaders came up with a way of diverting her from electoral politics. You can see a grassroots movement around her (like Dean) that might demand she be a part of the next presidential run (even as vice-presidential candidate if she doesn't win the nomination) and maybe get diverted into an organization (like Dean) that would start making demands of the party. Maybe they didn't want that and wanted to stop the Sarah Palin momentum.

3. As much as any comparison of that dumb twit to Howard Dean is completely sickening
I'll entertain the horrible idea enough to ask the following question:

If she did "get diverted into an organization (like Dean) that would start making demands of the party", what would they call such an organization?

I vote for DFAA (Dumb Fucks Against America)

it would be economical, and in keeping with Occam's Razor. It would at the same time--and without making any additional suppositions--explain why Fox News earlier hired Mike Huckabee, who can't be Rupert Murdoch's pick for president, given Huckabee's populist disdain for CEOs and Club for Growth-style laissez-faire. Hiring Palin could be a further attempt to clear the GOP field for a genuine big-business conservative with no populist streak, someone like Mitt Romney (perhaps Bob McDonnell if he makes a strong record in Virginia, although the GOP's "royalist" tendency would much favor Palin or Romney in 2012, since they both ran national campaigns in 2008).

5. You left out one thing though
Dean has a brain. This "woman" couldn't even write her own book about herself. Some give her more credit than due.

6. You are onto something. Fox experience will help build her
credentials for a much later political run (if that is what
she wants. She might just enjoy TV and being the most
significant Movement Leader.
