I have a lot of favorite Americans but Dr. King is number 1. He was a truly enlightened soul who understood the power of peacefully changing the world. To him peace was not only a goal, but the means to attain that goal

I was in Memphis a few years ago for a meeting, and I went to the site of MLK's assassination. The very simple motel has been turned into a memorial, but the appearance and feel of the place remain what they were when MLK was shot. I found the simplicity and everyman appeal of the place a good reminder of what any person can achieve if they refuse to play the game and accept the status quo that we're being asked to accept.

There will be no more monumental progress until another monumental leader like MLK emerges.
