Bill Moyers back on PBS....Question?
I was very glad to see Bill Moyers back on PBS tonight. As a matter of fact, I plan to send my local PBS station a donation and tell them it's a thank-you for bringing Moyers back.

But wasn't Tucker Carlson picked up by PBS about the same time they got rid of Moyers? My question is--Is Tucker still gracing the airwaves of PBS? I never watched his show or made any effort to local it. Just wondering.

3. Thanks, I'm feeling like things are maybe turning around some
I couldn't believe they got rid of Moyers and replaced him with Tucker. Pretty much stopped watching PBS. I'd like to think my boycott had some effect. I certainly stopped donating when they did that.

The thing is Moyers wasn't a partisan hack. He mostly did stories about the poor and down trodden.

5. Thanks, I stopped watching PBS when they got rid of Moyers
I stopped donating too. I'd like to think a lot of other people did too.

I will have to send them a donation. I'll make sure I write on the check "Thanks for Moyers".

8. When PBS forswears the 17% nick from the fed gov't,
totally getting rid of the big hand of rabid wingerism diddling the scales, I will start donating again...double what I used to. Until then, not one penny.
I think most of us would find a way to provide the missing bucks the government uses to give it and big business a hold on the "peoples'" broadcasting system. Those goddawful half dozen commercials that accompany each major production must stop, as well.

4. Tucker didn't last long
and was on when Moyers still had an hour.

Since Moyers was on here just after Tucker on Sunday mornings, I tuned in to part of his show. He did one segment on obesity and the diet industry that was really quite good.

His political commentary was shite.

6. Thanks, I don't remember the exact time frame
I just remember thinking...it's not enough that they have all network and cable news, now they have to invade the PBS channel.

fucking around with the truth it was brought forward very clearly.

How did PBS get the clearance to run it...since the Bush's FCC and the republicans have taken over PBS?

I think they can't keep a cork on it anymore. Last week cheryl Crowe confronted Karl Rove and this week the Tillmans and Jessica Lynch were lambasting the administration about the lies the pentagon has told.

I thought the Knight-Ridder guys were interesting. I thought the most interesting was that they said they didn't write for the washington elite, but for the people who were were going to fight this war. They aren't an influential news service like the Washington Post or the New York Times.

I just loved all the Armchair generals with their rose-colored glasses sending working class kids off to fight an unwinnable war.

11. Moyers was once a whore himself
Moyers knows of what he speaks. He was the White House press secretary tasked with convincing the public--through the White House Press Corps--that Oswald killed Kennedy, would have been convicted at trial, and had no confederates who were still at large. He was given this order from acting Attorney General Nicholas Katzenbach only hours after Ruby killed Oswald and before their relationship had even been investigated. He was given this order, furthermore, before the FBI had even read Kennedy's autopsy report or tested the speed of the Zapruder film, to see if Oswald's purported shooting feat was even POSSIBLE. (P.S. If this kind of stuff interests you you can read a heck of a lot more about it at patspeer.com. I also have 2 videos up on Youtube.)
