My 25,000th post.
Oh how DU has been my place of sanity for low these many years.

If any of you read any of my inane posts you will see that my passion for our nation, party and people of this nation runs very deep.

But honestly, I don't want to get all sentimental about it, so without further adue...

Thank you to Skinner, Earl and to all the Admins who keep DU what DU is: a place for us passionate loons on the left to scream and stamp our feet over life's injustices and railing about the fact that our Constitution is vanishing before our eyes. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

To the Mods, who have the thankless task of scolding my opinionated butt from time to time but also being just good people who try valiantly to keep the talk civil and to bounce the trolls to tombstone land. Thank you!

To my fellow DU'ers. As alway, Fuck you all. :) For those who know me and have read my past mile stone posts; know exactly what that means. :)

Without the back and forth, with out the give and take, without the point counter point without the piss on my leg, piss on your leg discussion, I wouldn't be here.

So, honestly, thank you all. You all have contributed to keeping me sane more than you will ever realized.

Y'allhave made the 8 long years, of living under a constitutional dictatorship, livable.

And as with all my mile stones, I will be unblocking all the people I have blocked for one reason or another. Forgive and forget...until next time. lol

Cheers! Peace! Bring the troops home now!, love that special person a little bit more, watch a sunset, eat more chocolate, help someone with asking if they need help, grow something, teach someone to whistle, smile more, share an orange, feed someone, but most of all, try to be the best person you possibly can be without letting the trolls of life get you down.

:)

1. Nice post, Hitler.
Ha ha, I kid! My guess is you'll want to keep your count exactly on 25K for at least a little while, and won't defile it on a reply to a knucklehead like me.

Congrats on this milestone! :hi:

How much we've all learned from the unified and massive brain known as DU.

I guess we've got something in common, despite all of our differences.

Right fucking on.

PS- The roof on my new shop is almost done as I type. I'm taking a break from the mud and blood for a minute.

Here we go! I just ran down and took this. THE HAMS!

11. I don't feel we are out of the woods yet. We have a Patriot Act that allows:
The warrant-less wiretapping program began in 2001 when it was authorized by President Bush. The program became public knowledge in 2005, since then the program has endured many legal challenges from rights groups such as the American Civil Liberties Union, among others. Critics claim that the program is a violation of the Separation of Powers doctrine contained in the Constitution because it allows the federal government to place wiretaps on the phones of American citizens without a warrant from a judge. The program is referred to derisively as the Domestic Spying Program.

The first legal blow to the program came in 2006 when Judge Anna Digs Taylor ordered that the program be shut down. Judge Taylor's ruling rejected the Bush Administrations claim that the President is able to overlook laws that are deemed blockages in the way of intelligence gathering.

Judge Taylor reportedly stated that: "there are no hereditary kings in America and no power not granted by the constitution." Judge Taylor's ruling agreed with civil Rights groups assertions that the program was unconstitutional because it violated the separation of powers principle. Taylor further ruled that the program violated the 1st and 4th amendments along with violating the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

Judge Taylor's ruling was later overturned by a panel of three judges from the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. The judicial panel dismissed the case after the Bush administration appealed Judge Taylor's ruling. The ACLU took care to point out that the panel did not rule in the administrations favor or uphold the legality of the warantless wiretapping program.http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/403665/aclu_urges_supreme_court_to_take_warrantless.html
