Being the "little guys" - WE will NEVER win!
We will never beat big business. They have all the money and power on their side and we have no true voice on our side and no way to fight them.

I write this in the midst of a battle with a "Home Warranty" company who won't fix the cooktop in our new house even though it is leaking gas. We all smell it, they have sent out a company to look for the leak and couldn't find it, so now I'm going to have to buy my own new cooktop.

This is about more than a stupid cooktop though, it's the same with every business I deal with lately. We moved so I just signed up on my electric company website to get my bill paperless and pay it online, I unchecked all the boxes for them to send me spam emails with special offers but when I clicked "Submit" the screen came back and specifically thanked me for signing up to receive their special offers. I wrote to them and told them it defaulted to this and that they should fix this problem, they wrote me back and told me how to go back in and uncheck the boxes for myself, not even addressing their problem on the website that automatically opts everyone in when we specifically opt out.

This is about more than spam emails though, I just signed up for DSL internet at a special of $24.99 a month for 12 months. Sure enough when the bill came, they billed me the regular rate of $34.99 a month. I had to call and tell them to fix it.

There is more. MUCH more. And this is all stuff that's happened in the past 3 weeks that I can remember off the top of my head.

Business doesn't care about us, nobody cares about us. It's not about how they can do a good job for the customer, it's about how can they trick us into giving them money somehow and hope we don't complain, Or about how we have to pay $120 in "copays" for the to tell me my cooktop isn't leaking when it is and I could have put that money toward a new cooktop. Even the Better Business Bureau is on their side so it's not use going to them for anything, they're just as much as a scam as the companies themselves.

Take care of yourselves people. Watch your money. Watch your stuff. Pay attention cause nobody else gives a damn about you and your money because they are trying to steal it from you and they always will try and steal it from you.

1. True, always have to be on guard
And the big corporations always seem to make mistakes in the billing that favor them, its funny how that works out. They want to nickel and dime everyone and especially banks and credit card companies, they love this stuff.

That said, there are some companies that I respect and are honorable and that I feel happy to give them my money for their business service that they provide.

2. I agree....but there is no place to give the good companies the credit they deserve, or they
are for services rarely used. I had little choice about my DSL line, none about my power company or the home warranty (which I was pretty sure was a scam to begin with).

Then again, even when I find a company I like I'll read some sh*t about them somewhere that makes me feel like a fool for ever trusting them in the first place. AAHH!!!!!

6. Pasture pastry.
You are vastly uneducated in American and world history. Do you really think OSHA was created out of the goodness of rich men's souls? Or social security? Or the 40-hour week? Or child labor laws? Or women's right to vote? Or .............

Really. Stop being silly now. Eat some spinach.
