Barack Obama threatens to withdraw support from wavering Democrats
Barack Obama has said he will not campaign for any Democratic congressmen who fails to support health care reform.

The president will refuse to make fund-raising visits during November elections to any district whose representative has not backed the bill.

A one-night presidential appearance can bring in hundreds of thousands of dollars in funds which would otherwise take months to accumulate through cold-calling by campaign volunteers.

Mr Obama's threat came as the year-long debate over his signature domestic policy entered its final week.

6. No Bucks...No Buck Rogers...
A presidential campaign visit can mean big coin...fundraisers and lots of teevee coverage. Sure doesn't hurt to have that kind of support.

9. You
got any Beemans?..................Loan me some. I'll pay you back later. I love it

On a side note and keeping with the theme AF-one may hit the demon that lives out in the thin air in fly over country, and sink some campaigns even with the extra bucks.

5. I'm sure that a Rep. scared off of voting for something 70% Americans are against
would be SO frightened of not getting the endorsement of the guy pushing a bill laden with poison pills

(and of course he endorses the Arkansas Toadstool Senator: wonder where the people saying that "a sitting administration NEVER can refuse to endorse someone of its own party!")

15. Republicans sure have poisoned the well haven't they?
However most of the polling I have seen shows people against it until they are told what is in it. Then they are for it.

11. Unless you're a Lieberman
In which case, you're special and can vote with the Republicans as much as you want while retaining your clout. Only true liberals need fear the loss of support from our Democratic president.
