Hey, Texas School Board! For my 20,000th post, I give you Thomas Jefferson.


Founding Father

Principal Author of the Declaration of Independence

Author of the Virginia Statute for Religious Freedom

Founder of the University of Virginia

3rd President of the United States

2nd Vice President of the United States

1st United States Secretary of State

United States Ambassador to France

Delegate from Virginia to The Congress of the Confederation

2nd Governor of Virginia

Delegate from Virginia to The Second Continental Congress

Representative from Albemarle County to House of Burgesses

Horticulturist, architect, archaeologist, paleontologist, and inventor.


'Jefferson is the only president to serve two full terms in office without vetoing a single bill of Congress. Jefferson has been consistently ranked by scholars as one of the greatest of U.S. presidents.'

Get President Jefferson into circulation! People take the nickel for granted, but they will look twice at a Jefferson Two Dollar Bill. It is still produced and is available at most banks.

6. the Texas Taliban should read this Jefferson quote:
"I have sworn upon the altar of God, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man."


But I doubt any of them can actually read.

8. I loved reading the Query XVII of notes on the State of Virginia
I can't help but giggle everytime I hear Christians claim that he was against seperation of church and state.
