Crist to Rubio (again): Release those tax returns (Thrasher protecting Rubio)
From Jim Stratton at the Orlando Sentinel:

April 19, 2010

The Charlie Crist for Senate campaign has posted the governor’s last 10 tax returns online and again called on Marco Rubio to follow suit.

Crist has already made public his returns for 2000 through 2008, and Rubio has promised to make his records public as well. But he’s not yet done so.

The Crist campaign is looking for ways to gain traction against Rubio and has latched onto the tax-return issue because of press accounts describing Rubio’s past use of a GOP-issued credit card.

While he was in the Florida Legislature, Rubio at times used the card for personal expenses. He has said he reimbursed the party for those costs but also said his accountants would review past tax returns to see if the returns needed to be amended in light of the credit card disclosures.

“It has been an entire month since since Speaker Rubio’s unethical spending habits were revealed,” said Crist spokeswoman Andrea Saul, “and yet he is still not taking responsibility for his questionable actions.”

.....

But, watch carefully what state Senator/RPOF Chairman John Thrasher just did today:

(Below is the only record I can find now of this story; however, it exposes the pertinent facts.)

April 19, 2010

State Sen. John Thrasher , who doubles as the state GOP chairman, stripped language Monday from his elections bill (SB900) that would have required political parties to disclose detailed information about credit card purchases. The bill now includes just two components: revisions to absentee ...//(end of snip)

What's very interesting is that this story regarding Thrasher's actions on SB 900 appeared on both Tampa Bay's The Buzz and the Miami Herald's Naked Politics blogs late this morning; now both entries have been removed in the past several hours.

Fits right in with Thrasher's past history.

John Thrasher is a one-man wrecking machine, programmed by Jeb Bush, and is using the power of his elected office and his concurrent Chairmanship of the Republican Party of Florida for unadulterated political gain in the radical conservative takeover of Florida's government and resources.

And, in the meantime, Rubio walks.
