"My Life With A Learning Disability" (Thought I would share this short film)

This film was done by a student (narrated by Andrew, acting by Daniel, and camera by MacKenzie) at the Fletcher Academy (where my youngest son will graduate from hopefully this summer). It was also attended by my oldest son Robert who is working on his 4th degree at NC State University (we were once told by a teacher he would never go to college). My youngest son is in the video in the classroom scene (somewhat heavy set boy sitting in the row in front of Daniel). This video has now been requested by teachers and professors around the country as a learning tool. This is for all you with a learning disability or a child with a learning disability. I have elected to give you the link to the one with captions. The original has more than 32,000 views on You Tube.

Though it made me choke up several times.

We looked at Fletcher Academy when my son's LD's became apparent (and we lived in Raleigh at the time). Homeschooling turned out to work for him though.

I'm convinced that undiagnosed LD's are some of the biggest issues facing kids in the classroom today.

8. Yep. before mass literacy, for example, Dyslexia definitely wasn't a disabillity.

Given the association between Dyslexia and creativity.
