Steinberg To Schwarzenegger: Review Arizona Contracts

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- California Senate President Darrell Steinberg wants the state to review and possibly break its contracts with businesses and governments in Arizona after that state passed a stringent immigration law.

snip...
Steinberg wrote in a letter to California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger that he has doubts that Arizona's new law is constitutional.

"The Arizona law is as unconscionable as it is unconstitutional, and the state of California should not be using taxpayer dollars to support such a policy. For that reason, I respectfully request that you provide me with information about all existing and proposed contracts between the state of California and any businesses or governments in Arizona," Steinberg said in the letter.

Steinberg also wrote that, "I would like for our respective legal staffs to work together to determine whether we can legally break any of our existing contracts, and also ensure that no new contracts are negotiated until Arizona's law is effectively repealed."

2. Somehow I feel less guilty that we're stealing some of Arizona's water
from the Colorado River. Have been for years. Now my opinion is, "So what? Make us quit you racist fucks."

3. There are ways
to deal with the heinous "show me your papers" new law in AZ and this seems like it would be an effective one..No New Contracts.
