As but one example, putting an endorsement of offshore Atlantic drilling out there to induce them to support your bill.

Two tenets to live by:

repubicans will never support a Democratic initiative on *anything*

repubican ideas, across the board, are bad ideas.

I don't know about anyone else, but this seems real simple to me.

2. I am going to re-post a comment i made in another thread, it fits perfectly with this Stinky.
That is what is so wrong with all this bi partisan bs, there is no core principle
to believe in.

You get people who are democrats defending a ridiculous decision by the POTUS to open up areas for drilling, just because he is a Democrat.

Then you get people who are really upset about that decision by the POTUS.

The end result is division within the Democratic Party. While we could be fighting for a unified agenda, we will fight amongst ourselves. This is the saddest part about the whole thing, and we keep getting watered down old GOP ideas in the name of bi partisanship because there are Democrats who will defend a decision made by Obama to the hilt, even if it flies in the face of everything they say they believe in. We cannot gain critical mass to push an agenda through. Obama is dividing the Democratic Party with many of his policies and we are losing the agenda.

The oil spill and Obama's decision to open up drilling is the most perfect example.

5. The only thing for certain
is that far too many politicians from both Parties are beholden to money and special interests, and far too few really give a damn about the greater good of the people they are supposed to represent.

4. Especially in the area of economics.
Republikkkins are phenomenally stupid when it comes to this area. I say phenomenally stupid, because merely being plain stupid would require -

a) admitting you're wrong about the "success" of "Free Marketz" economies and
b) not stubbornly clinging to these ideas once proven a failure, or stating that "we just haven't given the Free Market enough time to work and fix itself"

Since these dicktits refuse to do either of the above . . . well, there you have it.

15. And yet they are SO good at coming up with slogans
It drives me crazy that the Dems have the good ideas, but they don't know how to make them SOUND good. I think we need a Slogan Czar or something.
