Ok now this is infuriating.
So when the Deepwater Horizon blew up and began ruining the Gulf, BP said that it did not have a backup plan in place because it was "inconceivable" that the blowout preventer would fail. That sounds startlingly reckless enough- but in the past few days I've read that Transocean was warned 10 years ago about problems with this type of blowout preventer and that it also malfunctioned in 2000 on another rig.

And what's more, the Bush administration waived mandatory safety regulations due to pressure from oil companies including BP.

These people should be shot.

I realize I'm probably late on the scene with this info and everybody probably already knows it but I practically live under a rock and just learned all this in the past few days and needed to post about it because it's infuriating. I hope that company tanks and that that's just the beginning of the woes to come for the people responsible for this.

I refuse to buy another gasoline powered automobile.

1. do you have a link for . . .
"Bush administration waived mandatory safety regulations due to pressure from oil companies including BP."

I thought that happened in 2009 - which would make it the Obama administration.

The decision by the department's Minerals Management Service (MMS) to give BP's lease at Deepwater Horizon a "categorical exclusion" from the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) on April 6, 2009 . . .

5. Shooting them is too kind
Unless it's something like buckshot, and it doesn't kill them. Otherwise, it's too easy and too painless. Horsewhip them, and then roll them in that oily mess they made. Daily. For the rest of their greedy, putrid lives.

3. Thank you "LIBERAL" SCOTUS for putting the buffoon in office.
Although the idiot son was one of the most inept "Oil Men" to ever emerge, he was true to his roots. Did he ever appoint anyone that didn't come from the industry that they were supposed to regulate?
Rhetorical question FWIW.

The damage from "w" and his family of slimy creatures has been, is today and will in the future be disastrous for the US and a large chunk of the planet.

"Heck of a job" there Prescott.

11. "These people should be shot."
Isn't that the sort of angry rhetoric Obama is asking people to stop using? No matter how richly deserved and appropriate?
