Michele Bachmann says financial reform is fascism
from the MSP City Pages:

Michele Bachmann says financial reform is fascism
By Nick Pinto, Thursday, May. 13 2010 @ 12:33PM

When it comes to delivering the crazy-town incendiary rhetoric, Michele Bachmann doesn't quit. She spent much of the spring spouting the now totally debunked assertion that President Barack Obama had nationalized 51 percent of the U.S. economy.

Our pick for Best Villain has now added fascism to her litany of anti-Obama bombast. Maybe we'll call it Obamafascism. Of course, that leaves out her charges of anti-Americanism and socialism, but there's only so many "isms" in the world.

The Minnesota Independent reports that last night, in a webcast event for the Tea Party group Ensuring Liberty, Bachmann compared the financial reform bill being debated in Washington and backed by the White House to Italy's economic control under dictator Benito Mussolini.

"This has a lot in common with Italy in the 1930s and the way Italy dealt with economics," she said. "It still continues private ownership of business but government is in control."

Of course, Bachmann is hardly alone in her fondness for invoking Axis powers. Last night Lewis Black took a look at Glen Beck's Hitler fixation: http://blogs.citypages.com/blotter/2010/05/michele_bachman_89.php

1. Who needs meat inspectors anyway?
If a few thousand people die from eating contaminated food, the rest of us will just take our free-market dollars elsewhere, assuming we can discern where "elsewhere" is.

3. How can the peope of Minnesota accept this loon as their representation?
I know they gave us the great Al Franken and I thank them for that. They must have a very bi-polar electorate. Pawlenty? Bachman? and then Franken?

7. I don't think Bachman and Franken can even shake hands
The resulting matter/anti-matter explosion would level all of Minnesota.

5. This woman talks a lot
She never really says anything but she sure does talk a lot. Sort of like that woman from Alaska, what's her name again?

6. This is where they should trot out the socialism canard
These asshats are missing their cues. It's really neither. It's just sound governance, which these assholes abhor vehemently.
