BP is handling everything including the clean up of oil affected animals. :wtf: Only their contractors are allowed to do this? Only their photographers are allowed to take pictures? No other media allowed? No one is allowed to help clean up because they are doing it? Is this what Obama meant when he said they were paying for all of it? They would do all the cover-up, er cleanup themselves? Boy, if he doesn't send in independent government agencies and military in there, he will have worse than Katrina on his hands if he leaves the foxes in charge of the hen house. I don't like how this is shaping up at all.

11. This could unite a lot of us...
I think this crosses all of the imaginary lines "we" have drawn through society.

We need something big... like the anti-Bush war protests... but this time, it will be non-partisan.

7. I wonder if the conflict is because they are responsible/liable for the "clean up" -
At a time like this, that stuff needs to be wiped aside and every able-bodied person should be permitted to help. We need EVERYONE.

They (BP) just can't get past their corporate mind set. Don't they understand this will impact the globe? Don't these people have any children? Have their souls shriveled into a pile of ash?

This is beyond horrific.

18. I was really pissed when I heard earlier they aren't allowing anyone...
but their own contractors to treat the animals. I'm certain there is a massive coverup in place. And the animals aren't getting treated.

26. I don't want BP's contractors treating the animals either.
For all the animals that survive this catastrophe, I want them treated and cared for by the very best. I want the bird experts to treat the birds, etc. It is the least we can do.

This isn't about just the Gulf Coast anymore, although EVEN IF IT WAS it would make the urgency of what needs to be done no less dire.

If BP is allowed it go on like this, it's going to be about the Atlantic and beyond our country. I simply cannot believe that other countries, other CONTINENTS are just going to sit by, suck their thumbs and let BP kill the entire planet.

They have got to be stopped, and the Adults need to take over.

Something has to be done.

Hayward belongs in jail, and that is the least of what that piece of human waste deserves.

This is insanity.

We CANNOT allow entire OCEANS to be destroyed.
