Ron Paul said he'd have voted against the Civil Rights Act
Rand Paul isn't that much different from his father, Ron, who was the only member of Congress to vote no on hailing the 1964 Civil Rights Act in 2004. They are both pricks.

Libertarians like to act like they haven't gotten anything from the government so the government can't expect anything from them.

MR. RUSSERT: You would vote against the Civil Rights Act if, if it was today?

REP. PAUL: If it were written the same way, where the federal government's taken over property--has nothing to do with race relations. It just happens, Tim, that I get more support from black people today than any other Republican candidate, according to some statistics. And I have a great appeal to people who care about personal liberties and to those individuals who would like to get us out of wars. So it has nothing to do with racism, it has to do with the Constitution and private property rights.

8. I wish the republicants and their teaklanning pals would do the same thing.
Give up. Pour a glass of wine, and let the folks who actually give a damn about people run the show. It would be so much better for everyone if the team that hates government would quite trying to govern... and doing it so badly.

4. more to the point he's a typical Republican
when asked if he would try to get rid of the act if elected he said no. So he's a person that if you elected him promises to not do the things he believes in. Wink, wink. Really I don't see the difference between teabaggers and the old republicans they are "fixing".

13. He votes against spending government money.
Unless it's earmarks for his home district. Then he's Dr. Yes.

14. Remember Rand Paul's Communications Director had to resign
because he put up the image of a lynching on MLK Day and the caption, "Happy N88888 Day!'

Rand Paul says he doesn't believe he was a racist.

Apparently, none of the Pauls recognize racism when it's staring them in the face.

15. I read about that on DU. Bunch of them cloak your hate in anything you can racists....
and then deny being a racist.

It's not hate...it's free speech
It's not hate...it's God's will
It's not hate...it's property rights! (evidently)

17. Hate is terrible.
If you feel anger, you should be able to make it sympathy and caring.

Hate does a person no good.

18. I'm sure the Paul family would appreciate hearing that
Nah..probably not. If they can't recognize racism then for certain they won't cop to the hate involved in that racism.

20. They know just the right dog whistles to blow for the boys down at Stormfront.
Like when Ron voted against a medal for Rosa Parks. He said it was because he opposed spending taxpayer money for it. Then he voted for $8 million for the marketing of wild American shrimp marketing in his home district.
