1. circumnavigate...? When did it become a sentient being?
Will it be using a compass and sextant to help with it's navigation?

7. Sentience may help circumnavigation, but it's not a requirement
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/circumnavigate

1. To proceed completely around: circumnavigating the earth.
2. To go around; circumvent: circumnavigate the downtown traffic.

2. Agree. And I'm not going to snark on your word - you get the point across.
We're all part of an ecosystem, what happens THERE doesn't stay THERE. The entire world is affected.

3. It seems the flow has slowed a bit, or the cam is up steam. Let's hope
the cap works.

5. Oh I'm hoping really hard. I've been following it for days. I've not given up. It's
not the final answer, but as I keep saying, every drop they keep out of the gulf is good until we can kill the well. :hi:

15. We don't know the long term effects of this spill, but I fear
starvation for many who depend on the mother sea.

8. There should be numerous oil tankers cruising the Gulf, sucking
up as much oil as possible. Why isn't that happening?

14. The former President of Shell is big on the tanker siphoning, too. He cautioned
that the logistics are complicated and time consuming, and many ships aren't available, but he's pushing for that approach.

I honestly don't know why it isn't happening right now. I did hear they couldn't actually get into the gulf, but he (Shell guy) said they could hang out farther out and do some hoses. Maybe they're en route now.

9. It's ironic that the Gulf Stream, which was created about
three million years ago, http://www.globalwarmingart.com/wiki/Wikipedia:Isthmus_of_Panama
was possibly the crucial geological event that triggered evolutionary changes to the human brain,
that allowed man to become the dominant species on Earth, may now become the "River of Death".
