2. Our taxes
went down a bit. But even if they had gone down a lot it wouldn't be worth the 6 years of other crap we've had to endure.

I read somewhere that Republicans are using "Middle class taxes will go up by $1800 if a Democrat is elected in '08."

Cheap at twice the price IMHO.

12. Well, for the first time in almost 40 years
my standard deduction was more than my itemized deductions.
And I'm writing off all the usual stuff...mortgage interest, r.e. tax, med expenses, etc.
I think because I achieved 65 years on the planet last year and got an extra deduction.

It was a weird feeling, after wading through all the paperwork, to see the standard deduction was the way to go.
Maybe I can do 1040EZ next year?

13. I have to admit
I benefited quite a bit.

However, Bush would probably say I'm not a patriotic American because I didn't go spend all that extra money. I socked it away because I'm not convinced my good times are going to last...

14. Define benefit...
if it means to pay more taxes, have less money, watch my savings dwindle away, then yes, I have greatly benefitted.
