St. Louis pet waste removal worker finds $58 packed in dog poop, returns it to customer

In this photo provided by DoodyCalls Pet Waste Removal, Steve Wilson, a worker with DoodyCalls Pet Waste Removal holds a plastic bag of money May 30, 2010, in St. Louis. On a recent call, he noticed money sticking out from doggie doo and after cleaning the bills, placed them in a plastic zip-locked bag and returned what turned out to be $58 to the customer. The money was torn, but the serial numbers were identifiable, which means the bills could be returned to a bank and replaced with new money. The Association of Professional Animal Waste Specialists says Wilson is the first person in his profession to find and report money in dog poop.

3. I once recovered $45 from our dog's poop -
Edited on Tue Jun-15-10 08:58 PM by haele
After the the kidlet left her Comic-con spending money been sitting on the coffee table next to a half-consumed bowl of chicken soup late at night.
The dog had a nom session about 4am in the morning (I woke a bit hearing the bowl hit the floor) and we woke up to scattered shreds of $5 and $20 bills.
4 days later, we recovered all the peices to make at least 75% of the two twenties and the five Shari ate.
We cleaned the peices up, lysol'd the heck out of them, taped them together and took them to the bank to exchange for usable money. The bank manager laughed his ass off at the story, and exchanged the money even though they're apparently not supposed to exchange damaged bills anymore.
It's just poo, after all.

Haele

6. That's because everyone else who found money in dog poop probably kept it.

Trust me. Once you've fished something out of dog poop, you've earned it.
