29. It is pretty sad...
when a "news" show on a comedy station seems to be the only people that keep archival tapes so people can be reminded of what politicians have said (and failed to deliver on).

18. He was a great candidate and he still is a great speechifyer
Alas, he needs a swift kick in the ass and someone needs to get that stupid ring to Mt. Doom because it's clear, as a leader, he isn't all that good and he is liking what power that ring gives him just a little too much.

I'm actually to the point of not giving a fuck about what goes on in Washington. Actually, that's not true. I'm caring too much about something that is beginning to look like the same puppet show as we had the eight years prior.

It's becoming ever more likely that Bill Hicks was totally, completely right. He may have died of pancreatic cancer but it was brought on by a broken heart. He wasn't strong enough to be a Christ even though he had the vision. My vision feels more like Cassandra's and I'm just about as brokenhearted as he was but I have a family to care for so I think I'm going to let it go.

I fought so long, so hard with so many of you here on my side, fighting just as hard. But the last two months have been hard for me to take.

15. I didn't laugh once
But that doesn't mean Jon didn't hit the bullseye, over and over and over again.

I'm thinking about taking the summer off and deciding just before the midterms whether I care to vote or not. I haven't missed a single voting opportunity in the last ten years. But this whole government is beginning to look an awful lot like a dog and pony show and I'm not sure I care to play anymore.

21. Good criticisms.
I hope Obama sees it. I wish Stewart would have told the whole story by showing the positive changes Obama made on each of those issues. He paints a misleading picture. But hey, everyone does it.

That is what the whole f*cking tirade was about.

You seem to be trying to have "misleading" mean that "it makes Obama look bad."

47. Yet, that isn't true.
You're confirming my point that the piece left viewers with a false impression. Obama has changed things on each and every one of those issues, but not in totality as much as we would like.

He arranged for the release, hearing or trial of most Guantanamo detainees. Claiming that he shifted them all to other places like Bush did is simply not true with the exception of just a few people. Why not mention how many detainees have been released to freedom or given a trial since Obama took office?

There are new restrictions and safeguards on wiretaps.

I forget what else was in the video but I recall that on each issue there were good things Obama did that Stewart left out. It simply isn't true to say that he didn't change anything.

but that's ALL there is to the post.

44. 3D Chess after all...
Or forgiving Obama for just protecting his family and life in order to escape the fate of JFK if he rattled too many Military Industrial Cages of the Corporatocracy.

I don't buy it. He knew it was a screwed up thankless job when he ran, and instead of honorably and ethically navigation the ship of state, he handed it over to Autopilot and went to the bar to get drunk with power.

It's been 1.2 years since Obama proved himself a big fat, DLC stooge, and I'm still in awe at the peoples ability to ignore the facts and still hope for his Slogans and Jingoism while the Country carrens closer to overshoot and collapse.

31. NOT Stewarts best work, shows out of balance critique from sloppy ass'd news clips...
Edited on Wed Jun-16-10 05:02 PM by uponit7771
...and not the first time either.

Stewards formula can't be take the 20% Obama has fucked up on and claim Obama's 80% like Bush...

Notice I did say Obama has screwed the pooch on some issues though but to take clips from our sorry ass'd M$M is sad.

Stewart was able to splice Bush's words in clips not splice news clips of Obama in clips...Bush's words were a LOT more credible in regards to how totally fucked up Bush was while he and a LOT OF DUrs don't recognize how fucked up our M$M is...NO, you can't believe a damn thing they say and I mean a DAMN THING.

P.S. Notice I did say Obama has screwN the pooch on some of those issues.
