Mark Williams Slams Tea Party Group For Kicking Him Out
Evan McMorris-Santoro | July 19, 2010, 10:16AM

In a long post on his personal blog -- the site of the astounding post last week about the NAACP that may prove to be the undoing of his career as a tea party leader -- the Tea Party Express' Mark Wiliams slammed the Tea Party Federation for kicking the Express out of the Federation because of him.

The Tea Party Federation voted unanimously to boot the Tea Party Express out of the organization on Saturday after a week of negative press coverage following Williams' anti-NAACP screed. Yesterday, Williams took aim at Tea Party Federation David Webb, who discussed his group's removal of Williams and his group on CBS' Face The Nation.

"Apparently I have offended the tea party 'leadership,'" Williams wrote. "Mind you, there is no tea party leadership; every tea partier is a tea party leader. But something happens when the stronger egos and personalities in a movement begin to feel a sense of ownership. It is not long before they act to claim and defend that feeling."

Williams, who until a month ago was a national chairman of the Tea Party Express, claimed that Webb was trying to make a name for himself by taking on Williams.

"It is a crying shame," Williams wrote. "We are fighting for the future of not just this nation but for the future of Mankind. That's just a little more important than my fat head, or the apparently even fatter head {Webb} on Face the Nation Today {sic} who misrepresented himself as the tea party 'leader'."

Williams also wrote that he understood the criticisms of his anti-NAACP blog post, which he removed after the controversy started to brew. Williams now acknowledges that the post was "inflammatory" and "arguably over the top." But he claimed the Tea Party Federation was trying to raise its profile on the back of his mistake:

"I am refusing all media requests on this," Williams wrote. "I do not wish to widen the fracture and exasperate the damage done to our movement by the National Tea Party Spokesman."

For a bunch of xenophobic, nativist America Firsters, they sure don't exhibit a very good grasp of the English language.

Don't people get exasperated (irritated) and situations get exacerbated (made worse)? Gotta love those well educated teabaggers if only for the comical effects of their use of the English language.

19. Good catch
As one who seeks to use language effectively, I've developed quite an eye for malapropisms like 'exasperated' in place of 'exacerbated.' At least he used a real word instead of cutting one from whole cloth like the Quitta from Wasilla.

9. The Idiot got played by the GOP and still does not know it.
The Tea Party was a Frankenstein's monster ... built by the GOP to get the crazy far right base "reanimated" after the McCain defeat.

It was never a "grass-roots" movement ... it was designed to get the former Bush supporters angry enough to vote again.

But, like any Frankenstein's monster, it turned on its maseter, and it has to be "put down".

The GOP is in the process of killing the fringe elements so that the run-of-the-mill GOP candidate can once again have a shot.

Williams was too dumb to see it. And soon, he will likely tuck his tail between his legs and vote straight GOP, just he as always done.

13. It wasn't rebuilt it was just rebranded because of the anger at republicans
by republicans for the mess of the last eight years. They figured that way they could just fool their useful idiots into still voting republican.

23. Yup ... that's why I used the word "reanimated" ...
At the end, the Bush loyalists were devastated ... they were the 27%ers ... crushed by Bush failure and America's scorn.

But as they Tea Party ... they are "reanimated" they are strong ... they will reshape the GOP and the country ... just as God and the founding fathers intended.

Meanwhile, the corporatists and the neocons laugh at them as they vote for run of the mill GOP candidates like Scott Brown and the new governors of MA and NJ ... all run of the mill GOP.

The tea party is almost of of gas. Fox news will stop pushing it, except when a traditional GOP face is on camera shilling for it ... in favor of the traditional GOP.

25. agreeing!
There was no way that any sane person could stand on Bush's record and call themselves a true Republican. They had to cook up a new way to engender yet more fake moral outrage.

Take a look at www.republicanchildmolesters.com for the picture of one small but utterly disgusting slice of the GOP. This site has replaced www.armchairsubversive.org. Hooray!

Edited on Mon Jul-19-10 04:44 PM by xultar
Because there are racist in the group who will get mad @ the people who don't want the group to be called racist.

There are non racist in the group who will be horrified to find out that the racist are mad because they really are racist and don't want other racist kicked out.

The GOBPers who court the tea party will get mad because they don't want their kooky brethren to be dissed by more logical GOBPers, well don't want them dissed before the November elections.

The GOPERS who want to call out the crazy fuckers in the teabaggers so the shit doesn't splatter back on them and take out the Republican party in general...will get angry that their colleges won't put their crazy back in the fucking attic.

Meanwhile, note that Teabaggery has shown that it can be influenced by criticism -- how much more can it be so manipulated?

21. Williams is still a teabagger and certainly has a big following, so it doesn't
mean a thing that he has been "expelled". That's all horseshit about being kicked out.
