in texas, 19-21 was the amount of students per classroom up to fourth grade, i believe. i havent heard lately, but that is where our classroom size has been for my children going thru the system.

i saw a thread where California and Arizona have increased the number of students this year.

i am curious where other states stand on classroom size for the lower elementary classes.

3. Student-Teacher ratio is not students per classroom
I didn't know that until working on the levy last year. If they have 3 kids with a Special Ed teacher, and 5 with an ELL teacher, and the music, band, art, and whatever other teachers; they average it all out. You can have a 20-1 teacher ratio and still have 25 kids in a classroom.

4. not sure frankly
ashley was in prek and there were about 18 in her class, and the teacher had an assistnt. genrally i'd have to say each class my 11 year old has been in has been approx 25 kids i guess. in 4th grade they had a mixed class sort of with two teachers and two classes in the same room. it was like two rooms though but together. not sure what the number of kids will be per class in 6th grade yet.
