Did the GOP have foreknowledge of the leaks?
I just find it strange that the RNC and other RWers floated anti-war trial balloons in the last couple of weeks.

Whenever the MSM covers a big event it's usually a RW stunt so of course I'm suspicious this time, especially as during the Bush era they generally avoided anything anti-war.

1. Information about the leaked documents
has been in the news for weeks, since the beginning of June.

from a June 6th article:

"and a previously unreported breach consisting of 260,000 classified U.S. diplomatic cables that Manning described as exposing “almost criminal political back dealings.”

2. yep, and Assange says there's more to come...
...and that WikiLeaks is "backlogged" trying to deal with the volume of leaks it has to sort through.

3. Fair enough.
Maybe they were opportunists in this case rather instigators but I don't put anything past them.

It's just amazing to see the Repubs change from branding anti-war activists as "unpatriotic traitors" to suddenly Michael Steele (briefly) and other RWers endorsing the same viewpoint.

I suppose it's a lesson to the Dems to do the right thing and not be frightened of the Repubs' rhetoric because they can and will turn on a dime (and become the very thing they castigated).

4. Except That Most Documents Date Back From The Bush Era
The documents shed more light on how Bush Co ignored the AfPak war.
