2. When you get a call from an unknown number on your cell or caller ID
type the number into Google before you answer. If it's robo-callers or spam sales calls there are sites that compile lists of those numbers and you will usually find out in seconds that it another damn call from 603-589-7211 (Allstate Auto Club trying to sell you something), so you don't have to bother answering.

4. I do that all the time
more often than not, there's a whole slew of sites where people have complained about receiving calls from the same number, although often the name(s) of the company using the number are not the same.

6. Several years ago the company I worked for shared a building with a telemarketing firm
These people did calls for a large number of different clients, so it's no surprise that people get calls from the same phone number, but calling for different companies.

3. Huffpo needs to get with the program
These tips have been around for some time, and are readily available on Google's own site...along with a lot more tips that Huffpo didn't even mention:

Boolean operators for advanced search have also been around for years. If you don't know what boolean operators are...Google it! :D

You knew that joke was coming, now, didn't you? :)

5. I still find Google useless too often. Netscape offered way more discrete websites in a search.
That's "discrete".
