Teen Chained In Home For 2 Days; Parents, John Vang and Thong Vue ArrestedPosted in August 2nd, 2010 by Claudette Rothman in Child abuse, crazy, crimeSacramento police arrested a couple over the weekend after their teenage son told authorities he had been chained to a kitchen table for two days before escaping.

While his parents were away gambling Friday night, authorities say the 13-year-old boy was able to use a key he had hidden from his parents to unlock himself and seek help from his neighbors.

One neighbor, Samantha Xiong, told reporters that Just before 10:00 p.m. on Friday the teenager had asked her for a chain cutter to remove the lengths of chains padlocked from around his neck and ankles and she told him she did not have one because she thought he was an escape prisoner and did not want to offer any further assistance.

The boy told authorities that his father, John Vang and his stepmother, Thong Vue, had chained him to the kitchen since Wednesday as a form of punishment. The teenager also claimed that his 40-year-old father had struck him while he was helpless to defend himself.

Vang and his 34-year-old wife have been charged with false imprisonment and cruelty to a child.

Authorities did not say why the teenager was being punished
