Here are some undeserving work-refusers who should have been allowed to starve
Jesus of Nazareth: Quit his carpentry job at 30 to run around preaching his "Gospel." Food stamp application: DENIED.

Socrates: Refused to work his entire life. His mooching was ended with his execution. Survivor benefits application: DENIED.

Buddha: Abandoned his rich, "successful" upbringing to become a penniless monk. SSI application: APPROVED (for "mental illness").

Gandhi: Quit practicing law to become a political activist. Supported by devoted followers. Housing application: DENIED.

I could go on and on, but why? Clearly all of these work-refusing bums felt they were just too good to go down and get a job at McDonald's. It's people like these who need to be left on the streets to starve or freeze. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

1. Well, in all fairness, JC probably wouldn't have been on food stamps
When you can feed a whole crowd with a loaf of bread and a fish, and wash it down with wine you just made from water, who the hell needs to go grocery shopping?

2. Hehe, fair enough.
Let's put him down for housing assistance denied, then. Luke 9:58 ""Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."

8. Indeed. It's a jailable offense.
If Jesus returned today, he'd have a hell of a time preaching in between being incarcerated in jails and mental institutions.

7. Are you kidding? He invented food stamps.
Making all the food that was available, available to everyone was what that was about.

14. This is one of the three proofs that Jesus was a woman
1. She fed a whole crowd of people on short notice with very little food.
2. She kept trying to explain things to a bunch of men who just didn't get it.
3. Even after she died, she had to get up after three days because there was still more work to do.

3. Socrates was a teacher, wasn't he? I thought he tutored the sons of the rich.

And if everyone worked a twenty-hour week, we could all be leaders/followers as we pleased, and "followers" wouldn't have to support the work of "leaders".

5. No. According to Wikipedia:
"It is unclear how Socrates earned a living. Ancient texts seem to indicate that Socrates did not work. In Xenophon's Symposium, Socrates is reported as saying he devotes himself only to what he regards as the most important art or occupation: discussing philosophy. In The Clouds Aristophanes portrays Socrates as accepting payment for teaching and running a sophist school with Chaerephon, while in Plato's Apology and Symposium and in Xenophon's accounts, Socrates explicitly denies accepting payment for teaching. More specifically, in the Apology Socrates cites his poverty as proof he is not a teacher."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socrates

I know Wikipedia isn't the most reliable source on Earth, but it does provide some evidence that Socrates rejected the paid "teacher" role.

11. At least until the "support our troops" Greek Repuke party cut them...
Support consists of 99 cent yellow ribbons on the car, as we know.

6. Socrates also was married
Her name was Xanthippe.

Her income and resources will also have to be taken into consideration for determining the proper level of assistance.

12. No more love for this?
Those who do not K&R very likely endorse the view that those who refuse employment should be left to the wolves.

15. a friend on facebook has posted twice this bs meme about
stop using handouts my tax dollars pay for and get off your lazy ass. i haven't responded because i am very angry and want any response to be factual and not reactionary. and i am very angry. this lazy meme is something created so people can feel like there is some other reason why people are in need of a SAFETY NET because if it is just because they lost their job or someone got sick then it could be any of us. and we can't feel safe if we know that anyone of us might be in that boat. it's so much easier to think that people on welfare are just gaming the system livin the high life on those food stamps. having kids just to get more from the state.

well, here in NY, here are some FACTS!!! a person can only get 60 months of cash assistance for their whole life. we already used some of that 60 months so i hope we don't hit hard times again for awhile. and you also have to go WORK OFF that cash assistance. even though you paid into the system, you still have to go work it off. and you have to SHOW that you are looking for work too. and they don't care how many kids you have or how much daycare costs or how much it will cost you for gas to get to a job or if you won't even make enough to pay bills, they expect you to take any job. a minimum wage job.... any job. so this bs lazy crap is ridiculous.
