Elizabeth Warren Backed By Coalition Of Academics To Head New Consumer Agency
A coalition of professors across the country has emailed President Barack Obama in support of Elizabeth Warren as head of the nascent Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection.

The 141 professors, representing disciplines from law, economics, management, sociology, and political science, sent the email this morning praising Warren's "scholarly expertise" and effective management. The list includes Warren's former employers at Harvard University, University of Texas, University of Houston and University of Michigan, as well as her alma mater, Rutgers Law School.

As pressure mounts for the White House to choose the first leader of the consumer oversight panel, the academics join a growing chorus of Congressmen and reformers pushing Warren.

In addition, 26 prominent economists and experts sent a similar letter to Obama, urging him to name Warren. <snip>

Why settle for less when you can have the best? Altogether now: We want Liz! We want Liz! We want...

1. Too Late. Geithner's already started staffing it.
Even if Warren is appointed, which I doubt, she'll be taking over a Wall Street friendly bureaucracy.

2. Now you know why Obama is stalling
She'll be ineffective if Geithner has time to staff it with his pro banking toadies.

4. Chris Dodd took care of that even before Timmy the Elf got involved.
By putting this psuedo-agency under the control of the "Federal" Reserve, he ensured that anything Warren or other legitimate reformers might have done, could be vetoed by them, and the Wall Street Criminals they represent.

5. She may not be off the table
but the agency may be so badly compromised by Timmy's appointments that Warren will not want her name associated with the sham.

7. So now, if Warren is appointed, the President gets to take credit for being open
to having someone in charge of the Agency who is pro-consumer, while the Wall Street Cabal gets to do whatever they please because they know she has been neutralized. Political maneuvering at its finest.

The only hope is that she would take the post and then resign the first time they sabotaged her. Of course, the Corporate Media would label her a whiny woman and then ignore the story.

Man, those bastards know how to rig the game!
