Sharron Angle, sinking in yet another poll (Reid +4, Reuters/Ipsos)
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2010/senate/nv/nevada_senate_angle_vs_reid-1517.html

If we get out the vote in NV, I think Reid will retain his seat. Even though Sharron will only go on Fox and other RW media, she manages to make a total ass out of herself every time she opens her mouth. We should all thank her for being such a teabaggin' frreakazoid. She's too stupid, clueless & crazy even for a lot of conned-servatives, which is saying something!

1. check this out
http://motherjones.com/politics/2010/08/bob-inglis-tea-party-casualty

t was the middle of a tough primary contest, and Rep. Bob Inglis (R-S.C.) had convened a small meeting with donors who had contributed thousands of dollars to his previous campaigns. But this year, as Inglis faced a challenge from tea party-backed Republican candidates claiming Inglis wasn't sufficiently conservative, these donors hadn't ponied up. Inglis' task: Get them back on the team. "They were upset with me," Inglis recalls. "They are all Glenn Beck watchers." About 90 minutes into the meeting, as he remembers it, "They say, 'Bob, what don't you get? Barack Obama is a socialist, communist Marxist who wants to destroy the American economy so he can take over as dictator. Health care is part of that. And he wants to open up the Mexican border and turn into a Muslim nation.'" Inglis didn't know how to respond.

As he tells this story, the veteran lawmaker is sitting in his congressional office, which he will have to vacate in a few months. On June 22, he was defeated in the primary runoff by Spartanburg County 7th Circuit Solicitor Trey Gowdy, who had assailed Inglis for supposedly straying from his conservative roots, pointing to his vote for the bank bailout and against George W. Bush's surge in Iraq. Inglis, who served six years in Congress during the 1990s as a conservative firebrand before being reelected to the House in 2004, had also ticked off right-wingers in the state's 4th Congressional District by urging tea-party activists to "turn Glenn Beck off" and by calling on Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) to apologize for shouting "You lie!" at Obama during the president's State of the Union address. For this, Inglis, who boasts (literally) a 93 percent lifetime rating from the American Conservative Union, received the wrath of the tea party, losing to Gowdy 71 to 29 percent. In the weeks since, Inglis has criticized Republican House leaders for acquiescing to a poisonous, tea party-driven "demagoguery" that he believes will undermine the GOP's long-term credibility. And he's freely recounting his frustrating interactions with tea party types, while noting that Republican leaders are pushing rhetoric tainted with racism, that conservative activists are dabbling in anti-Semitic conspiracy theory nonsense, and that Sarah Palin celebrates ignorance.

Republicans have gone bananas. Their platform is to rip the few social safety nets available to those struggling away: deny unemployment extensions, no stimulus, get rid of social security, hcr, etc. That is going to turn a lot of people off. On top of that they are being led by complete crazies. If the democrats running simply remind voters with the soundbites provided by the lunatic candidates on the right what republicans stand for in this election they will win. Who wants to vote for someone who promises to rip away social security and unemployment insurance?

3. So let him be the spineless senator, and elect someone else as the Majority Leader

11. That's unlikely.
Having Reid lose the election is probably the only way to unseat him as leader.

5. Who is worse, Reid or Angle? I think we all know the answer to that question.

7. It's like asking if you want a glass of a nice Chardonney or Mad Dog 20/20
Sure there are probably better wines I could have served but if my other option is a bum wine I'll take the Charonney pul-lease.

12. Perhaps you'd like to recruit her to run in your state. I don't want her for my Senator. nm

15. Reid hasn't stopped progress in the Senate. Not as liberal as I'd like but he beats many we have. nt

16. You haven't noticed that EVERYTHING dies
or gets watered down in the Senate? He has proven to be ineffective. I know people think the world revolves around Obama but Reid is the one making calls and executing strategy in the Senate.

17. Yep. And I've noticed Nelson, Lieberman, Lincoln, Bayh, & a host of others are more to blame.
I also noted Reid's tireless fight to get some sort of public option into the HCR bill and Rahm's visit to him one Sunday night to order him to cave to Lieberman. I also noted Reid bringing the amendment on drug reimportation to the floor while Obama's team worked behind the scenes to defeat it. Reid is not the problem in the Senate and you are advocating for the election of the worst teabagger running this year.

6. Wow, I guess you would like it if we cheered on some radical right wing dimwit to win in your state?
:grr:

If you don't like him as a Majority Leader that's one thing.

But to even suggest progressives & democrats in Nevada to be stuck with this Palin mini-me is just horrible. In a million years I would never EVER suggest that a republican is a better choice for a democrat ESPECIALLY if it's not a state I live in.

19. Thank you. These posts amount to campaigning for Angle, AFAIC.
I'm almost of the opinion Angle is worse than Palin except for not having the national exposure.

4. The woman has gone to an entirely new level of 'Teh Stupids'
To be honest, this should have been an easy pick-up for the Republicans. Reid was not popular with Democrats and Nevada is more of a 'purple' state that can go either way.

I have a feeling we'll see the death of the Tea Party when candidates like Angle fail miserably.

Hey, don't forget, the Tea Party serves a useful function.
They're identified with the Neocons, and this helps them to lose votes.
