A warning to the rich from JFK
"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." The Republican have stolen two elections since the turn of the century and will doubtless try to these in November. I am not advocating for a violent revolution I just think the rich would be wise to take note that when they try to steal peoples money and their rights there will eventually be consequences. We need election reform or things will get very bad for this country.

2. Info note: This line was also quoted by MLK in his Beyond Vietnam speech
The upper classes never believe that he under classes have the will to rise up against them until it happens. Been true for a few thousand years.

As others have said, power concedes nothing without a demand. Our situation never improves on its own.

6. "A warning to the rich by JFK"
My first though to reading that subject line is JFK was rich. That is all. Nothing else.

7. John F. Kennedy was not speaking of the rich.
He was speaking about Democracy and how elections are a form of Peaceful coupe. So Kennedy was not warning the rich, a group in which he and his entire family were and are members thanks to Joe Kennedy. If people want to continue this populist rage against the rich meme, they should quote Marx or Engals. The struggle of the proletariat against the bourgeois, Class struggle, was a critical part of their ideals. Kennedy and FDR were liberals who believed in Democracy and individual rights. The struggle of the wokers/proletariat against the rich/bourgeois had no real part in their concepts of liberalism.

10. You realize he wasn't talking about the rich in that quote
right?

Free clue... USSR...

Second free clue...

Revolution in police states.

You really want to talk about class and all that... I suggest Karl Marx... and Frederick Engels...

And no, they are NOT easy reads either.

11. I have read part of them,
but the point is does it really matter who he was talking about in that quote if it can be applied to people today? If my doctor says i'm at risk for a heart attack and my best friend has the same excate lifestyle and body type as me does it matter that the doctor was talking to me and not him when we are both at equal risk? The oligarchs in this country may not be as open about it as the USSR but they would love to make peaceful revolution impossible and they are trying whether you believe it or not.

12. Yeah but I like precision in language and history
you want comparisons? Again Marx and Engels are more appropriate, as well as... the Guiled Age...

As to preventing revolution by political elites, and this has exactly changed exactly how?
