Civil Rights in the New Millenium

The struggle for GLBT rights continues (what else new?).

The new RW assault is directed against Hispanics, beginning with Arizona's "papers, please" law.

A lot of us are avtive in opposing the Arizona law, but we need to be just as active in suporting GLBT rights.

GLBT activists are frustrated and outraged at the lack of progress on GLBT rights.

GLBT rights are just as important as the civil rights issues involved in immigration issues. Yet, even from those of us on the Left, they seem to get short shrift.

It seems to me that civil rights is civil rights, and we can walk and chew gum. And we ought to be fighting for both immigrant rights and GLBT rights.
