I've gathered that people's real fear about illegal immigrants isn't based on racism or xenophobia or ethnocentrism but is in fact rooted in the fear that non-citizens mind wind up voting in our elections.

So...

Conservatives are fine with foreign-owned corporations literally buying elected officials outright, but they object to a handful of Mexican guys who might pull the Blue lever in the booth?
