Freepers on Prop 8, oh the drama!!
Get out the world's tiniest violins, the drama clowns are here!

"I am so f-ing mad!! What’s the f-ing point in voting anymore, when some black robed tyrant can overturn an election in one fell swoop."

"Citizens of California trying to uphold the sanctity of marriage as God intended are 'overruled' by a homosexual judge, and the leftmedia will cheer.

Young people have been brainwashed in public schools to see homosexual behavior as 'just another lifestyle' and cannot understand why anyone opposes 'gay marriage'. Their usual response to opposition to same-sex 'marrige' is: "who cares?" That is the problem. Fewer and fewer Americans 'care' about refusing to honor a sexual perversion with the sacred title of 'marriage'. The 'gay community's' relentless pursuit of 'marriage' laws that include two people of the same sex is bearing fruit (no pun intended). Our culture is turning into a sewer, and it seems that few really care anymore. If that proves true, we'll get the society we deserve. Sodom and Gomorrah in America? It's getting closer - and it won't be pretty. "

"Don't ask Don't tell will be revoked.
The gays will use the military to get spousal benefits and housing PLUS health care.
They will then enter civil court and sight military precedent.
It is going to be messy and bloody. "

"No it's not.
That's what you are turning it into but it's not what it is.
Nobody is forcing you or anyone else to "accept" anything. They are merely preventing you from discriminating based on a characteristic that you dislike.
You're welcome to continue disliking it, but you're not welcome to force people to live by your values. "

That, and the spelling gene.
However, they do have spittle flinging outrage mastered.

and not allow anyone over 45 the right to vote.

I know, I know, there are plenty of cool older people out there (like me), but seriously, there is SUCH a totally HUGE difference in worldview between the 45 or so and younger demographic and the 45 and over demographic. It's HUGE. Probably one of the biggest divides in human history, politically, technologically, socially, spiritually, culturally... so, so different. And the divide between the 30-40s and the teens-20s is also quite big.

With, for the most part, the favor going to the younger folks who see "gay", "interracial relationships", "interreligious relationships", and "international relationships" as totally irrelevant issues, and who think that a geographically bound world-view is just fucking nuts.

I'm sorry, but that was really fucking stupid. And I say that not just because I'm over 45 and happy Prop 8 was overturned. But because really, it's fucking stupid to want to deny ANYONE the right to vote just because you assume their opinions won't jibe with the ones you approve. Whether it's Republicans, or people over 45, or people you consider stupid, or whatever. Really. It is completely against what this country is about.

...is the ROLE of judges in our society. One important part of their role is to overturn any law that is in conflict with our Constitution, regardless of how the law was passed in the first place.

Of course, the other thing that is laughable in their rantings, is their insistence that the Bible defines marriage as between one man and one woman.

King David, anyone?

27. I wonder if they ever think about the irony...
Like when someone posted this statement:

"Young people have been brainwashed in public schools to see homosexual behavior as 'just another lifestyle' and cannot understand why anyone opposes 'gay marriage'. Their usual response to opposition to same-sex 'marrige' is: "who cares?" That is the problem. Fewer and fewer Americans 'care' about refusing to honor a sexual perversion with the sacred title of 'marriage'."

Let's see now...

the "sacred title of marriage" can be perverted by serial monogamy (divorce after divorce after divorce, etc)...spousal abuse...adultery...by the very people who are ranting about how marriage will be ruined if people can marry someone of the same sex...

And they just never "get it"...

Poor, pathetic idiots

marry someone of the opposite sex. If they want to believe gay people will go to hell, that's fine...nobody's stopping them. But I don't understand their compulsion with inflicting their religious beliefs on everybody else. Don't they believe in religious freedom?

If you're opposed to alcohol, don't drink.
