It's long past time for the media to start marginalizing homophobes in this country

Anderson Cooper does not need to have Maggie Gallagher on his show, spouting her puerile bigotry, in an effort to highlight how fair a reporter he is.

They don't invite overt racists to the CNN studios when discussing issues of race.

They don't invite anti-semites on shows when discussing Jewish issues.

There is no reason to keep lending homophobes moral equivalence by putting them on the air with a GLBT advocate, as if their point of view had any legitimacy at all.

These people need to go away. They need to be shown back to the swamp from whence they emerged.

Theirs is not simply another point of view. No, they are doing nothing but propogating hate and they deserve to be, at long last, completely shut down and shut out.

Reason Anderson has her on is because homophobes are still not considered as bad as racists and anti-semites. They're still, somehow, on a more moderate, acceptable level. We'll be better off when that ends.
