Judge Walker's ruling on Prop 8 is a victory for Americans and for the Constitution - I think

his finding was well written and based on facts. The case brought by the supporters of Prop 8 was simple-GLBT people are either not human beings or not American citizens and therefore have no rights under the constitution.
The judge dismantled their case point by point specifically - I belive the case will stand against further appeal and I doubt the USSC will even choose to hear it.

wouldn't that knock down all the other states' nonsensical laws and it not just be a "California" decision? Maybe it should go all the way.

2. It's definitely a milestone.

Unfortunately, it's not the one at the end of the road. I wouldn't be too sure about the USSC, though, considering we seem to have a bench-load of wingnuts at the moment. Still, it is a victory worth celebrating.:party: :toast:

3. What the judge has done is to dismantle the "case" for Prop 8

piece by piece. It NEVER was constitutional - it was a bad law from the beginning. I doubt it will even come up for appeal - there is NO LEGAL REASON to overturn his decision.

Not even the Right can pass laws without legal justification-"because I believe it" is NOT a legal reason to makd some people second class citizens.

I am happy to see this "religious" bullshit face legal reality.
