Darts Shot At Obama Likeness In Pa. Carnival Game
If it wasn't obvious to this guy that it was "political", then the teabagger talking points have become just too damn normalized. Where's the "alien"? Oh, right....

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) ―
The head of a Pennsylvania amusement company has yanked a carnival game in which players shot foam darts at an image resembling President Barack Obama.
***
"It was just a big, big mistake in judgment, and I feel sorry about it," he told The Associated Press. "I can't take it back, but I can try to make it better."

The game, dubbed "Alien Attack," featured a large painted image of a black man wearing a belt buckle with the presidential seal and holding a scroll labeled "Health Bill." Players could win prizes such as stuffed animals by hitting targets on the image's head and heart.
***
Good said that he voted for Obama and that the game wasn't meant to encourage violence against the president. He said the image was conceived and painted by a staffer. "He just drew it up, and that's the way it came out," Good said. "We didn't talk about it being political." Good said he has not been contacted by anyone in law enforcement regarding the game.

2. I have seen this on local TV, and it is very offensive - the good thing is that

many people there WERE offended, and didn't just laugh at it.

FWIW, the carnival was operation on the grounds of a church in a benefit for the church...they were "not available for comment"...

3. Is this the very first time presidential likenesses have been used as
targets for darts, bean bags, pies, or other stuff? Probably not, and I betcha it won't be the last.

I seem to remember a link to an internet game where one could aim shoes at the likeness of a recent president.

5. Was the sponsor a CATHOLIC CHURCH? And shoes are not known as weapons facsimiles.

But "remembering" a link is not quite the same as providing one.

4. I live around there. Man who answered the church phone this a.m. said the following:
Edited on Thu Aug-05-10 08:30 AM by WinkyDink
First off, I objected to the likeness of ANY HUMAN BEING being thrown darts at at a CHURCH carnival.

His reply: "How about Obama going to that Wright's church and hearing him preach 'Kill all the Crackers??'" And he hung up.

TELL ME that church didn't KNOW it was a likeness of the President.
