Gingrich: Prop 8 decision was a warning sign for the consequences of the Kagan vote
That Gingrich sure has become an elder statesman, hasn't he. Such a class act. :eyes:

From former House Speaker Newt Gingrich:

Today's notorious decision also underscores the importance of the Senate vote tomorrow on the nomination of Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court because judges who oppose the American people are a growing threat to our society.

In other words, "cough cough Kagan's totally gay cough."

6. He's a university professor.
He has a doctorate in European History and from what I understand is actually a rather accomplished scholar on the effects of European colonialism in Africa in the 18th and 19th centuries, of all things. It's completely non-cognitive...one of the foremost critics of European manifest destiny in Africa is also one of the most vile hate-filled bigoted conservatives of our day.

He also writes shitty historical fiction and fancies retiring to a life of educational activism some day, promoting math and science education.

It's almost intellectually-schizoid...like he was an opportunist praying off the fears of morons for self-empowerment.

8. Yeah, and now that Kagan is on the court
Prop 8 will be upheld 5-4, with Sotomayor, Breyer, Ginsburg, and Kennedy voting to strike it down, and Kagan, Alito, Thomas, Scalia, and Roberts voting to uphold it. Mark my words (although I pray I'm wrong.)

10. judges who oppose the American people are a growing threat to our society
Isn't this the same speak we got back when judges were being shot?

And just who the hell is "the American people?" I think judges interpret the law for the American people. If all we want is mob rule, who needs courts?
