Changing your habit for one days solves NOTHING - it needs to be a lifetime of change
That's all I have to say.

I choose the later. Everyday I try to find something that could make this world a better place and that will have a better impact in cleaning up our environment.

Doing it just for today means tomorrow we go back to the way we did it before.

Make a lifetime of change, not one day

5. Don't forget the lawnmower.

What I find disturbing/amusing about this drain-bamaged crap is that I can easily imagine the advocates blaming the 'failure' of this charade on those who didn't comply.

It's amazing such brains can even muster the horsepower to achieve speech. :eyes:

4. Start small then build on success
Change is not painful. Resistance to change is what hurts.

People need to start making adjustments in lifestyle NOW while it is possible to make choices. Waiting until the critical point is in the past is only gonna make the adjustments more radical and tougher.

Instead of not buying a particular item today, how about we just use that item 1/7 less than we used to? Next month, cut more, and so on.

It really isn't that difficult to change small things and keep adding to the changes one makes.

6. Yup. It's a lot of work.
Most people don't want to recycle everything they can: bring home any paper/plastic trash generated at work, reuse plastic/sandwich bags, compost. Then there's the whole supporting only local/sustainable agriculture and production things. That's a challenge and can be time consuming. And for many people if the town doesn't have recycling, or local farmers don't sell direct, or sustainable local businesses don't exist, what are they to do?

Society needs to change I think to make these options easier for everybody.

8. You know, I was housecleaning this past weekend and had a ton of plastic bags
and I realized I do have choices. I always liked plastic because of the handles and the fact that I can reuse them as garbage bags in my bathroom.

After this weekend I'm making it a point to go paper again. And I keep a tote bag in my trunk for day-to-day use should I buy a few things at the store I'll use that instead.

We can make a difference!
