The churches can, should, and need to do what they deem fit, but the state does not have that freedom. It needs to apply the law equally to everyone.

• Newt, I am a libertarian. In fact, a CONSERVATIVE libertarian. However, as a CHRISTIAN, I can’t condone the inequality that Proposition 8 created. If we want to make marriage a religious institution, then NO ONE should be allowed to be married and have special rights as such through the government.
