In 1986, Cheney, along with 145 Republicans and 31 Democrats, voted against a non-binding Congressional resolution calling on the South African government to release Nelson Mandela from prison, after the Democrats defeated proposed amendments that would have required Mandela to renounce violence sponsored by the African National Congress (ANC) and requiring it to oust the communist faction from its leadership; the resolution was defeated. Appearing on CNN, Cheney addressed criticism for this, saying he opposed the resolution because the ANC "at the time was viewed as a terrorist organization and had a number of interests that were fundamentally inimical to the United States."

they still will be racists tomorrow. Repub politicians always say they are not racists, however they see no problem relying on the racist constituents for their vote. They have no problem stirring up the racists to achieve their goal of bringing a Democratic President down, based on his skin color. Those politicians are not out there saying the hateful things themselves, they are not racists. They believe their hands are clean.

Republicans will do and say anything to bring down a democratic government, history has proven that. His race is their opportunity. They have given a voice to the hate in this country. In the process making it acceptable. Repubs pulled the monster out from under the bed and nourished it. When it appeared that the monster wanted to go back under the bed, they started to give it victims. Acorn and Sherrod are just the most recent ones.

I have not forgotten. I believe this is going to get worse, a lot worse. What we have seen has been the testing of the water. They found the temperature to their liking. They are not diving in, but wading in slowly. That way when it gets too hot, they can back up a bit. Waiting until that level of hate becomes acceptable, then advance again. They take 3 steps forward, when it gets hot only 2 backward. Slowly creating the boil.
